Water Pressures Methods in DeepEX
A. Introduction
DeepEX includes several methods for the calculation of water pressure diagrams on both wall sides. Water pressures in DeepEX can be taken as hydrostatic, and the software can also calculate either the simplified flow, or the 2D Flownet analysis pressures. When the Full Flownet method is selected (2D analysis with finite differences), the software can calculate the seepage load on the excavation side, taking into consideration the permeability of each soil layer.
A liner effect can be used on the excavation bottom to seal the excavation. When this option is selected, both the water pressures and the effective vertical stresses are affected.
