Ground Water Analysis Methods in DeepEX


This section examines the water analysis methods implemented in DeepEX software. DeepEX includes several options for water pressures - hydrostatic water pressures, simplified flow, full flownet analysis and more.


Hydrostatic Pressures


Hydrostatic water pressures are applicable for both conventional and elastoplastic analysis in DeepEX. In ELP, hydrostatic conditions are modeled by extending the “wall lining” effect to 100 times the wall length below the wall bottom.

Simplified Flow


Simplified flow is applicable for both conventional and elastoplastic analysis. This is a simplified 1D flow around the wall. In the non-linear analysis mode, the traditional non-linear water flow option is employed.

Full Flownet in DeepEX


Full flownet calculation is applicable for both conventional and elastoplastic analysis. Water pressures are determined by performing a 2D finite difference flow analysis. DeepEX calculates the shippage load on the excavation side.

User Defined Water Pressures in DeepEX


In DeepEX software, user can define manually the values for the water pressures diagram, both for the driving and for the resisting side. This mode is applicable for both conventional and elastoplastic analysis.
